2026 Festival Details

The 2026 edition of the Foot Soldiers Park Selma Cinema Festival will once again transform Selma into a hub for storytelling, creativity, and community connection. Running March 26–29, 2026, the festival will feature a dynamic program of films, discussions, and cultural experiences designed to inspire dialogue and celebrate resilience. Audiences will enjoy screenings of both short and feature-length films across diverse genres including documentary, drama, comedy, and animation. Categories include Alabama Shorts, U.S. Shorts, Foreign Shorts, and Social Justice Shorts, alongside a Feature Film competition that showcases powerful stories from around the world. In addition to film screenings, the festival will highlight youth engagement through student showcases and school programs, and connect visitors with Selma’s living history through The Selma Experience—a guided civil rights history tour and cultural immersion event. Events will take place in Selma’s historic venues, including the Foot Soldiers Park Auditorium, Walton Theatre, and Arts Revive, creating a cinematic journey rooted in both place and purpose. Special events such as interactive workshops, panel discussions, and award ceremonies will round out the program, offering opportunities for learning, networking, and celebration.
