What Is The Selma Experience?

The Selma Experience is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the history and legacy of the Civil Rights Movement in Selma, Alabama. This special experience, crafted in partnership with the Creative Placemaking Conference and Selma Cinema Festival, will take you on a transformative journey through Selma’s pivotal role in the fight for voting rights.

Tour Details

What To Expect

  • A guided civil rights history tour led by iconic Foot Soldier.
  • An optional lunch at Reflections Coffee Shoppe, overlooking the historic Edmund Pettus Bridge.
  • Access to the Selma Cinema Festival programming and a highlight screening of Freedom’s Path.

Pricing

  • Tour Only: $50
  • Tour + Lunch: $65

Transportation & Lodging

  • Buses will pick up attendees from the Creative Placemaking Conference venue in Montgomery in the late morning and bring them to Selma.
  • Evening buses will depart from Selma at 8:00 PM to return attendees to Montgomery.
  • Those staying in Selma past April 4 will receive accommodation recommendations, including a special rate at the St. James Hotel.
